A letter from the executive director
For over a year, my boys (Carsten and Landon) and I have been asking my husband (Rudy) for a puppy. Our dog “Jingle” is the best dog in the entire world!!! So why wouldn’t we want to add another wonderful member to our family? After much begging, cajoling, strategizing, researching, and pleading for a pup, Rudy FINALLY said “Yes”! Thus began the search that led us to Tag.
Our Mini Australian Shephard, Tag, has brightened up my world, given me a new source of joy, and has been just the boost my spirits needed. My boys and husband joke I plan to make a shadow box of the socks he retrieves on his adventures around the house (but I promise a shadow box is not in the future). Tag is scolded for sock stealing as this habit we will not encourage.
So what has Tag got to do with the Foundation? Well, Tag really gets around trying his best to help, just like St. Joseph’s Community Foundation. The Community and Educational Grants we provide to the Red River Valley area go to those “most in need.” They support this communities’ future nurses, dentists, physical therapists, medical professionals, and they support local 501(c)3’s providing a medical hand up. Both the Foundation and Tag grant opportunities to help advance the well-being of others.
A recent letter of thanks stated:
“Thank you so much for choosing me to be one of the recipients of the educational grant. The money is so very appreciated! It helps ease the worry and stress of affording college greatly! I am so very appreciative of the help this grant has provided. I look forward to putting the money to use to continue my education and eventually serving the Paris area.”
It is my hope the Foundation gives those we serve with out funds what Tag has privided our family since his arrival: a brighter world… a source of joy… a boost to the spirit… and all other good things.
It continues to be my pleasure to serve the Foundation as the Executive Director. I am blessed!
