CASA for KIDS
CASA for KIDS is the local non-profit agency that recruits and trains volunteers to advocate for children that have been abused and or neglected in their child welfare cases. In 2023, St. Joseph’s Community Foundation awarded a grant to CASA for the implementation of their “Nine Months Plus Program,” which provides prenatal education and resources to community members that are pregnant, at risk of becoming pregnant, or postpartum up to 3 months. By funding the knowledge of medical care and how to access it, we can improve the health of one of our most vulnerable populations.

Paris Lamar County Health District
The Paris-Lamar County Health District provides the citizens of Lamar County with best opportunity for good health through health promotion and the prevention of disease. Addressing poverty related health disparities is no small task, especially when many lack access to basic medical resources. That is why the County Health District requested a grant from St. Joseph’s to support their diabetes patient assistance program, providing insulin and other supplies to our community. With this assistance, the Health District can provide diabetic care to their patients, 98% of which fall beneath the poverty line.

CitySquare Paris
CitySquare Paris is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship. They operate a local day shelter which provides hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, clothing, and case management, as well as a Teen Center which offers after-school programs, homework assistance, recreational activities, and meals. In 2025, St. Joseph’s awarded a grant to support a critical infrastructure upgrade at CitySquare Paris.

The Salvation Army Corps
Our local Salvation Army chapter provides disaster relief, human services, a daily feeding program, and much more for our community. In 2025, the Salvation Army Corps serving Paris requested a grant to support their human services program, which prioritizes the health, dignity, and well-being of individuals and families in need of assistance. This grant supplemented their budget for items like personal hygiene products, laundry detergent, and janitorial supplies.

The grant that the Foundation gave Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry enables over 300 families to be fed every month. Because of St. Vincent’s association with the NorthTexas Food Bank, and the refrigerator/freezer, the pantry can help the food challenged people of Lamar County and stretch budget dollars. One dollar donated can become $4.00 in food purchase dollars.”
